About me!

I’m Hans and as my name suggests, yes, I am originally from Holland. I’m the Manager of Strategy and Policy at Superpartners, the largest superannuation administration provider in Australia. Superpartners currently has $97 billion under administration and we provide administration for over six million member accounts.

My primary role is to translate superannuation trends and policy changes and determine their impact on Superpartners’ business and its clients.  Like all my colleagues at Superpartners, I am passionate about super and strongly believe that everyone is entitled to a dignified retirement.

I joined Superpartners in July 2007 after a stint with Mercer Human Resource Consulting where I became a Principal in 2003.  I have held senior management positions in superannuation consulting, operations, relationship management and policy for some 20 years which is far more exciting than it sounds. No really!

Among other things, I’m currently a member of the AIST Policy Committee and ASFA ‘s eCommerce sub – committee which means I’m an active contributor to public debates in the superannuation industry about how we can make an already great retirement system even better!  I have a Diploma of Superannuation Management, a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and I’m a Fellow of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia. I am Super man!

I have a lovely wife, Kate, and four beautiful children to match -another reason why I have so much interest in superannuation!  My other passion is music – I used to play the trumpet at a semi professional standard in orchestras, big bands, ensembles and army bands. True story! Even though I have retired from active duty as a trumpet player according to Kate, I’m still blowing my own horn!

I hope you enjoy my super musings.
